Student Technology Conference (STC) 2015
+ Michigan Technological University

June 16 - 19, 2015 - Registration Closed

About the Conference

Colleges and universities throughout the world are bringing content-rich academic, computing, and telecommunications technologies directly to student living areas to provide richer living and learning environments, and in support of academic excellence. The Student Technology Conference is the only conference of its kind which deals exclusively with student technologies within academic institutions. The conference is always held at a college or university, and most participants choose to stay on campus.

Every summer, the STC brings together administrators, technologists, and specialists who plan, implement, and support these and other student technologies at over 150 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, and abroad.

Content in recent conferences has focused on collaboration between these living and learning environments, institutional academic offerings, and the future directions of technology and services. Many aspects of such services are addressed through case studies, topic presentations, focus group dialog, birds of a feather discussions, vendor participation, etc.

Participants in the Student Technology Conference come from a variety of academic institutions, each with unique ways of supporting and enabling student technologies on their campuses. These attendees encompass support areas including help desks, instructional technology centers, as well as other student-focused academic technologies. This mix of experience allows attendees to share knowledge through presentations, panel discussions, roundtable conversations, and often simply through the casual and social atmosphere of the conference.

Before the main conference begins, attendees may choose to attend one or more Professional Development Seminars (PDS). PDS sessions are more in-depth, run for either a half- or whole-day, and are led by experts in their field.

The STC contains a Vendor Fair which offers a unique opportunity for vendors to showcase the different technologies and services which they can offer to academic institutions. A concurrent Vendor Track allows several popular vendors to give their own presentations on their services and products.
